Some of the old students of Batch of 1974 comprising Jaysree, Hansraj & V Kumar decided to have an Alumni and on 15 Aug 1996 they went to Business Management Department and informally formed Alumni Association by symbolically lighting a candle. You can read more here.
After this event, these alumni went & met Prof. Abbas Ali, then the Head of Department of Business Management, regarding their desire for the formation of Alumni Association. Prof. Abbas Ali agreed with the need of starting an Alumni Association. He called for meeting of some old students to the department and the first Executive Committee was formed. This highlights the the good rapport shared by both the students and faculty of the institute.
On 26 January 1997 this team organized first annual meet. Till recently the annual meet was held on 26 January of each year. But due to difficulty of getting guests of honor to the event due to schedule conflicts on the Indian Republic Day this was changed to 3rd week of January.
In due course, a formal Alumni Association by the name of Osmania MBA Campus Alumni Association (OCAMBAAA) was formed as registered society with Registration No 699 of 1999. The Alumni activities are currently held under the name of OCAMBAAA since that time.
The logo of the Alumni Association was also designed during the above time and the same continues to be in use.
