G. Ranjit Narayan’s President’s Address – From OCAMBAAAA Souvenir 2003

Respected Hon’ble Justice Y. Bhaskara Rao, Prof. J. Anantha Swamy, Vice Chancellor, Osmania University other dignitaries and members of Faculty and members of Alumni

The New Year had just passed 25 days ago. It gives me great pleasure to wish you and your families a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year. It was a moment of great joy when we all met on 26th January 1998 in the Department of Business Management on the lawns OU Campus surrounded by lush green trees which spoke great parables to our lives. The Nostalgia exhibited by one and all and reverence to their Professors and other well-wishers who graced the occasion to spend some time with each other recalling memories of the past and integrating it’s it’s relevance and importance to the present and setting valuable goals to ourselves and our families and the Society in general was really memorable.

As you all remember that it was a spontaneous feeling to achieve this objective to a close reality and therefore we decided to form really memorable Alumni Association. With close interaction and cooperation of senior members of the Alumni and the guidance received from the senior faculty of the Department, it was possible to evolve guidelines for the functioning of the association “The Alumni Association under the name and style OCAMBAAA – Osmania Campus MBA Alumni Association – is established with the sole motto of inculcating fellowship and fraternal feelings among the alumni and the faculty of the mother institutions to achieve academic and professional excellence”.

As you all know that the Central aim of the Alumni is to gain a good image and acceptance in the society and therefore, the Alumni was registered under the A.P. Telangana area Public Societies Registration Act with Regn. No. 699 of 1999.

As President, it gave me a great opportunity to put into practice the experiences gained in my life so far and the learnings that took place while interacting with eminent leaders and academicians both in personal and professional life. All this has culminated to set a right vision and strategy plans to bring a close congruence between Academic Institutions on one side as suppliers and Industrial enterprises on the other side as customers. I am sure our association will be an unique one in the annals of the Osmania University and will stand as an eternal and cherishable example to posterity to emulate.

Dear Friends, as you know that both Academic Institutions and Industries have one goal in common namely to enrich life long learning particularly in today’s highly competitive business environment. That’s why more and more individuals have to expand their professional knowledge and gain valuable insight through varieties of educational programmes. To achieve this objective, OCAMBAAA has organized interactive series of guest lectures inviting eminent personalities from various fields of Science, Technology and Management. I thank all those who put their best endeavor in organizing them in a systematic way. I also take this opportunity to thank though at the moment they are not available amongst us today namely Prof. Bh. Shankar Narayan, Brig P.S.P. Sarma, Smt. Lekha Sistha Director, Foureis Consultants and Sri A. Venkat Rao, IPS (Retd) IG (Admin) & Director (Investigation) and Lokayukta. I am confident and hopeful that many more lectures of this nature will be organized in future.

There are many other directions in which our Alumni Association is working to help address the students’ concerns of business management. Suffice it to say that many Industrial establishments have extended their cooperation in working towards effective Industry – Academic Institutional linkage.

On this occasion I feel that it is my duty to place on record the initiative taken by Prof. Shyam Sunder who conceived the idea of Alumni and the services rendered by Shri A. Shyam Mohan and Dr. A.V. Ramana Rao, Founder President & Secretary respectively.

May I end by wishing all of you once again a Happy & Prosperous New Year. May the new year see the fulfillment of all your dreams and aspirations. With you the Alumni will also grow.

Best Wishes,
G. RANJIT NARAYAN
President – OCAMBAAA
