The recent OCAMBAAA Alumni Reunion 2024 on Saturday, the 17th of February 2024 was a very memorable occasion. Prof Sudha Vepa, the new HOD of the Department of Business Management, OU cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Alumni office. Our Alumni crowdfunded the cost of renovation of the Alumni office and it was supervised by the OCAMBAAA General Secretary PVSS Bhanumurthy (Batch of 1987). The event management was supported by Prabodh Dubaka – Joint Secretary (Batch of 1995) and many volunteers.
We relived nostalgic memories
It was heartening to see the incredible camaraderie, shared achievements, and vibrant energy that filled the venue on the lawns of the college and the Auditorium building. The event was a testament to the enduring connections forged during our academic journey and the remarkable paths our alumni have carved since.
Book Launch by fellow Alumni
One unique event was when Murali Duggineni(batch of 1996) did the book launch of his book, EtymagIQ. The book launch was done by Prof Sudha Vepa HOD, Sri A Shyam Mohan Rao – the first President of OCAMBAAA(Batch of 1974), and Sri Ramesh Vemuganti – the Past President of OCAMBAAA(Batch of 1982). The alumni wholeheartedly supported Murali and the sales of the book were brisk.
Felicitation of Prof. Sudha Vepa new HOD and other events
For the benefit of entrepreneurs – a couple of placement agencies also visited on invitation of OCAMBAAA seeking tie-ups for placement support from hiring managers and business owners. Felicitation of the new HOD, the first president of OCAMBAAA, and alumni were addressed by the dignitaries. Prof U Balaji addressed the alumni at the request of the alumni many of whom were his students.
Laughter echoed, camaraderie rekindled
Several short but profoundly meaningful moments were shared among the esteemed alumni. Laughter echoed as old friends reminisced about the old days and the camaraderie that defined their university years. These moments transported everyone back to a different age and time!
Heartfelt thanks to all those who supported
We thank all the volunteers and office staff who assisted in the conduct of the event. Special thanks to current student volunteers who professionally managed the registration – and made us proud with their competence. Big thank you to the many alumni who graced the event and spent their valuable time at this OCAMBAAA event. We thank the college authorities and their staff for enabling the smooth conduct of this event.
